Lucasfilm plans to release all the Star Wars movies on Blu-ray disc "Over the next few years, there will be an Ultimate Box and certainly a Blu-ray disc set to," said Steve Sansweet, Head of the Fan at Lucasfilm, in an interview with Examiner.com.
Voting, however, is the deadline, because like when the DVD release George Lucas wants the best time of the market spread for the Blu-ray Disc to wait but also the development of the online streaming in mind.
In any case, this is according to Lucasfilm Sansweet but with the issue and the first material collected and reviewed, for which a release could come into question. It also attracts older extras into account, based on previous posts but later on DVD is no longer to be seen.
During a panel at the C2E2 comic convention in Chicago, Steve Sansweet, Lucasfilm's Director of Content Management and Head of Fan Relations, stated that the company has been working on a Star Wars Blu-ray set. "We have been at work for a couple of years working on—I won't call it the Ultimate Set because we keep finding stuff—but, a very full set of all six movies on Blu-ray with lots of extra material", said Sansweet.
Sansweet didn't give a date, but he said " it won't be in the too distant future."
The Digital Bits, quoting industry sources, says that Lucasfilm "tentatively plans the official Blu-ray release to happen in October 2011." Obviously, with the Alien Anthology coming later this year, a 2010 release of Star Wars can be safely ruled out, and considering that A New Hope opened theatrically in May 1977, late 2011 would be a natural choice for a 35th Anniversary Edition Anthology.

Luke Skywalker e compagni presto in Blu-ray
_________________ Why do we feel it's necessary to yak about bullshit, in order to be comfortable? That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just shut the fuck up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence (Mia Wallace alias Uma Thurman, Pulp Fiction)

20th Century FoxConfirming earlier reports (see blu-ray.com, April 17), George Lucas himself announced today that the Star Wars films will be released on Blu-ray in 2011, in a six-movie box set. Speaking at the Celebration V convention in Orlando, Lucas said: "I wish I could say it was coming out this year, but it will come out next year." New, extensive special features will be included.
comunque sempre a quella pagina emergono altre informazioni:
New, extensive special features will be featured, including documentaries, vintage behind-the-scenes moments, interviews, retrospectives and never-before-seen footage from the Lucasfilm archives.
One of those special features, a deleted scene from Return of the Jedi, premiered at the convention. In it, Luke Skywalker is seen asembling his new lightsaber before going to the palace of Jabba the Hutt.
Lucas also clarified that the original trilogy movies will be included as they were shown theatrically in 1997 and released on DVD in 2004 - i.e., the original versions will not be included. "You have to go through and do a whole restoration on it, and you have to do that digitally," he said. "It's a very, very expensive process to do it. So when we did the transfer to digital, we only transferred really the upgraded version."
